After a slow start to the season in December, conditions have certainly turned around.
With massive snow falls on the 27th and 28th of December, followed by almost nightly top ups of the white stuff, conditions are now back to where they should be.
In Val d’Isère, the pistes have been soft and very grippy whilst the off piste has certainly picked up.
For me, the best place to head when conditions are like this, is up on the Pisaillas glacier, the highest part of the Le Fornet sector of Val d’Isère. Here the snow was in abundance, the clouds swirled around and the air was fresh – this is what skiing in January is all about.
