The Bungo is a very special luxury chalet in Morzine, with beautifully designed interiors by Ali Hearn Studios. Situated in one of the sunniest locations in Morzine, this family-friendly chalet features a heated outdoor swimming pool in the garden, along with a hot tub and a barbecue area. The outdoor facilities make it a great choice for both a winter ski and summer holiday in the French Alps.
The Bungo is arranged across three floors and features six bedrooms, sleeping up to 14 people. An additional sofa bed in the home cinema room can sleep an extra two people and bring the occupancy up to 16. Except for the sofa bed, all beds can split to twin beds, making this a flexible chalet for a holiday with several families, a large group of friends or a corporate retreat.
Upon entering the chalet you’ll be greeted with a hallway leading to the modern kitchen, an open-plan dining area and lounge. The dining table can comfortably seat 14 people, though two extra chairs are available if needed, and the lounge area offers a cosy space with curved sofas facing a wood burning fireplace and flat screen TV.
From each of these living spaces doors leading out to a decking area in the garden, which has a sunken fire pit surrounded by seating. There’s also a big dining terrace with two garden dining tables and 12 armchairs for al fresco dining during the summer. Next to this is an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue area and shaded outdoor bar with bar stools perfect for relaxed evenings outside.
This is a wonderful chalet for families and the sunny garden is equipped with a sunken trampoline, climbing wall and swing set with a slide to keep kids happy. The crowning glory of this chalet is the heated outdoor swimming pool that is seven metres long, three metres wide and 1.5 metres deep. A surrounding decking area features loungers, and leads you round to a patio area with a hot tub.
Stepping back into the chalet via bi-fold doors on the lower level of the chalet there is a stunning entertaining area with a bar, long island with banquette seating and bar stools. Adjoining this space is the home cinema room and the crittall doors and curtains can be closed for a more immersive movie experience. This level also has two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom.
Heading up stairs and on the top floor there are four bedrooms. The first two bedrooms both have en-suite facilities, whilst the second two bedrooms share a separate family bathroom in the hallway. Bedrooms 1 and 3 have the pick of the mountain views over Mont Chéry, and what better way to wake up than with fresh coffee and to gaze out over the Alps.
There is a large ski and boot room equipped with heated boot warmers and dryers, shelves and hanging space for all your mountain clothing. Next door to this is the chalet’s private gym with a rowing machine, exercise bike, treadmill and free weights, so if you choose you can get in a workout during your holiday too! The gym also has a small kitchenette, private WC and shower.
If driving to Morzine, the chalet has external parking for four cars, a garage and a 7kw electric car charger. There is also a storage area in the garage for bikes and a bike wash station outside. The Bungo will have two mountain bikes, two road bikes and one e-bike, which guests are welcome to use, along with kids’ bike seats available.
The location is an easy, flat, 15 to 20-minute walk along the pavement from the centre of Morzine and the ski lifts. If you are staying at The Bungo during the winter ski season, you have the use of on-call 24-hour in-resort driver service to take you around the resorts of Morzine and Les Gets. There is also a bus stop at the end of the long driveway where a regular, free bus service into Morzine stops.
The Bungo is available in the winter season on a catered chalet basis and is priced for up to 14 guests. The chalet can accommodate up to 16 guests with an additional charge. The chalet is also available on a self-catered basis during the summer.
