Chalet Red Fox is a self-catered chalet located in the picturesque area of Les Bois in the Chamonix valley. This tranquil and sought after setting is just a short drive from the gondola at Le Flegere, as well as the Chamonix Golf Course. The charming village of Les Praz is a 15-minute walk away and offers an excellent choice of good restaurants for lunch or dinner.
The chalet is spread over four floors and 260m2 of floor area. The open plan living rooms are arranged across the first floor where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the panoramic Mont Blanc views. On snowy winter nights you can curl up on the sofa next to the wood burner, or in the summer step out onto the wrap-around terrace and enjoy a barbecue with a mountain backdrop.
Sleeping 10-12 people, the bedrooms are split between three floors. Tucked away in privacy on the top floor is the master suite with large bathroom with freestanding tub and walk-in shower as well as a separate dressing room. On the ground floor is a double room with en-suite bathroom, as well as two twin/double bedrooms that have en-suite showers and share a separate toilet.
On the lower ground floor of the chalet is the fifth and final bedroom which features two bunk beds and has an en-suite shower room and toilet. Also on this level are the spa and entertainment facilities, with an indoor heated resistance swimming pool and sauna. A large cinema room with bar is the perfect bolt hole for fun nights in with friends, or a relaxed movie night with the kids.
Outside in the private garden you can play in the snow and build snowmen in the winter, or simply relax in the sunshine in the spring and summer. There is also an outdoor hot tub on the first-floor terrace which sits under the roof eaves so can be enjoyed whatever the weather.
The chalet has direct access to underground parking for 2 cars and an EV charging point. A Bose system connected via iPads also lets you play your own music throughout the chalet.
A year-round town, Chamonix offers a huge selection of bars, cafes, restaurants, and nightlife to savour. If you need to buy any new mountain equipment or clothing, there are an abundance of shops to choose between. It is also a great destination for any groups with non-skiers as there are many activities to enjoy where you don’t have to attach skis to your feet!
To maximise your time in resort it is advantageous to have a car, though the resort does offer a comprehensive bus and train service. The nearest bus stop (Les Bois) is 450m from the chalet. For grocery shopping there is a large supermarket a 4.5km drive away, and the bustling centre of Chamonix is the same distance from the chalet.
The Flegere / Brevent ski slopes are the nearest of Chamonix’s four separate ski area, with the Flegere lift just 1.3km away. For those learning to ski, the 2 dedicated nursery areas of Savoy and Planards are a 4km and 4.5km drive from the chalet.
The other ski areas of the Chamonix valley include Grands Montets, 4.2km away, and is a real adventure playground for strong skiers and snowboarders. At either end of the valley are Les Houches and Le Tour, and these areas offer a more varied network of slopes for all levels.
For larger groups, Chalet Red Fox can be rented in conjunction with neighbouring Chalet Black Pearl, to accommodate groups of up to 24 guests in 10 bedrooms. These 2 chalets share a common garage in the basement.
Chalet Red Fox is available to rent on a self-catered basis with daily housekeeping and daily delivery of bread & pastries. Additional services such as in-chalet catering or driver service can all be arranged at extra cost.
