La Grange au Merle is a newly renovated traditional Savoyard farmhouse located in the picturesque resort of Châtel, at the heart of the vast Portes du Soleil ski domain. Completed in time for the 2016/17 winter season, it is already one of the finest catered chalets available to rent in this beautiful resort.
The original character of this property has been maintained with wood interiors, exposed ceiling beams and a roaring fireplace. The addition of modern facilities including an outdoor hot tub and sauna create a mountain retreat from which to enjoy the landscape, sumptuous food and hospitality.
The heart of the chalet is the full width, south facing living space, with stunning views over the village and mountains. This area comprises a cocktail bar, lounge with warming fire and seated dining for 12 guests. A movie lounge and kid’s playroom are available along with a library and office in the mezzanine. In the cave under the chalet the carnotzet can be found, where guests can escape for an evening of wine tasting.
The chalet can sleeps 10 adults and 3 children in six tastefully decorated bedrooms; perfect to accommodate a group of friends or two or three families. La Grange et Merle has 6 tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms. All open onto the south facing balcony or a garden terrace, with the exception of the mezzanine bedroom which sits beside the library.
Throughout you will find Egyptian cotton bedlinen, fluffy towels, bathrobes and luxury Molton Brown toiletries. (A couple of extra pop up beds and cots if required are available on request).
Outdoors, there is a safe enclosed garden with children’s wooden alpine playhouse, double garage and additional parking for three cars.
The driver service is all day for transport around the resort and on the chef night off the driver service is also available. There is a ski bus stop directly outside La Grange au Merle and if you wish to walk, it is a pleasant 10 to 15 minute stroll to the town square.
An extensive concierge service is available and includes a comprehensive lift of additional services including professional and flexible childcare, ski hire and fitting at the chalet, ski pass delivery, lesson bookings and direct airport transfers from Geneva (90 minutes).
