Chalet Kalinka is a stunning luxury ski chalet in Meribel with spa and entertainment facilities. Located at the entrance to the resort, the chalet has been created from the extensive renovation of an old barn. Kalinka is made up of a main chalet and a separate annex. The main chalet now offers four floors and 500m2 of luxurious floor area all connected by both stairs and an elevator.
The chalet can accommodate up to 14 adults and 5 children for its maximum occupancy of 19. In the main chalet, there are five en-suite bedrooms and a dormitory room for 5 children also with its own bathroom, and in the annex a further two bedrooms. In the main chalet, all bedrooms are equipped with custom-made dressing rooms or storage. If an all-adult group, Chalet Kalinka has a maximum occupancy of 14.
On the top floor is the magnificent cathedral lounge sitting under a roof frame of approximately 120m2. Here you can spend special moments around the central fireplace, the billiards table or the dining table that can accommodate up to 14 guests. The striking bay window opens onto the south-facing terrace from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Méribel valley. A fully equipped kitchen and a 600-bottle wine cellar complete the main living spaces.
Also on the top floor is the master bedroom of approximately 50m2 with a king-size double bed, a spacious dressing room, office area, in-room copper bathtub and an en-suite shower room. One floor down, and this is where the main sleeping quarters are arranged with 4 bedrooms with king-size double beds and the dormitory with 2 x bunks beds, a single bed and family bathroom. Two of the double bedrooms can also be arranged with twin beds.
The entrance to the chalet is on the ground floor. Here there is plentiful storage for your winter clothing, a conveniently located toilet, as well as the ski room with glove and boot dryers, ski racks and even storage for your helmets.
This floor is also where you will head to relax once back from the ski slopes with your own private spa and wellness area. Take a dip in the swimming pool, or swim against the counter current system if you fancy swimming some lengths. In the sauna, a wall of Himalayan salt bricks will allow you to have halotherapy sessions while relaxing, the steam room will ease muscle recovery, all before the thrill of the Russian banya, a cold-water bath at 8 degrees!
Finally, on the lowest floor, why not enjoy a treatment in the Zen massage room with aromatic walls. Or in the evenings step into the playroom that can be used as a cinema, bar or disco for fun evenings in. A giant table football, for up to 8 players, and a play station complete the equipment of this room and will provide lots of entertainment for your children and the young at heart.
Next door to the chalet, just 3m away, is the annex which can accommodate four of the group. On the ground floor is a lobby and 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a double or twin bed. There is a separate shower room and separate toilet on this level which are shared between the two bedooms.
On the first floor of the annex is an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and living room. The top floor features heigh ceilings and large windows. On request, the sofa can be converted to a sofa bed that can sleep 2 additional guests.
For those driving to Meribel there is one covered car parking space and 8 private outdoor car parking spaces available.
Accessing the ski slopes is super easy with your in-resort driver service ready to carry you in comfort on the 3-minute drive to the main lift hub at La Chaudanne in Meribel Centre. The Chaudanne is where all the main ski lifts depart from and where all the ski school meeting points are located too. At the end of your ski day, many pistes in resort also return to this point too.
Your driver not just covers Meribel Centre but will also take you or pick you up from Meribel Village, Meribel Rond Point or Meribel Mottaret. This means that you can start your ski day at any of these areas if you prefer. Also, at the end of your ski day, if you fancy après-skiing at the famous “Ronnie” at the Rond Point, or Lodge du Village in Meribel Village, your driver will be available to return you to the comfort of the chalet.
The chalet is located 700m from the resort centre and is a 10-minute walk away, slightly uphill on the way in, and downhill on the way back. The free resort ski bus also stops within 100m of the chalet if you prefer not to walk outside of the hours the in-resort driver service operates. There is also a cheese shop and well-stocked supermarket just 300m away.
For smaller groups it is also possible to rent the main Chalet Kalinka property without the annexe. On its own, the chalet sleeps up to 10 adults and 5 children in six bedrooms.
Chalet Kalinka is available to rent on a bed & breakfast basis including daily housekeeping and in-resort driver service. The butler and housekeeper will accompany you throughout your stay from 7am to 6pm and are at your disposal to prepare breakfast, any grocery shopping you require, drive you around the resort, or book any restaurants or activities you wish.
If you prefer a fully catered experience at Chalet Kalinka, it is also possible to hire a chef and butler for dinner service at additional cost. The kitchen is available for guests to use in the evenings for home cooking if not dining out.
