If some of your friends are non-skiers then Le Carrefour is a great spot for Alpine dining. For the skiers its located off the Ruinettes ski run and for non-skiers the restaurant can be reached by the local ski bus passing every 15 minutes, if you want to keep fit then it’s a 20-minute walk from the center of Verbier or you can utilise your in-resort chalet chauffeur service.

The restaurant boasts a large south facing terrace with huge parasol and heating for bad weather days along with stunning views across the valley. Dating form 1880 but refurbished in 2014 the restaurant has a modern interior though still a stuffed animal or two to be found.

The restaurant provides local specialties, meats cooked on the hot stone, legendary rostis and fish dishes. For large groups looking to celebrate a special occasion ask for the ‘poachers room’ for a private and exclusive evening for up to 25 people.

Another great option for meeting up with the non-skiers of your group is Le Dahu located in Le Chaux, at 2,265m. This large on piste restaurant has something for everyone. Le Dahu bar opens at 9am for a coffee and a croissant or is an ideal spot for an aperitif with tapas in the sun.

You can ponder the wide selection of wines (and sample a few) whilst nibbling on the delicious freshly sliced local meats. For lunch there are several options and if you’re looking for a quick self-service bite to eat then Le Break Dahu is located on the lower terrace and inside.

Serving soup, burgers, sandwiches and paninis all with the the same fabulous views as those from the upper terrace at Restaurant Le Dahu. The thin crust wood fired pizzas are a must try and ample to share and for the crepe lover these are made to order in the downstairs restaurant.

If you’re looking for something more relaxing then make a reservation at Le Restaurant Dahu, which can be found upstairs. On good weather days take in the breathtaking views of Val de Bagnes, Les Massif des Combins and the surrounding mountains from the fabulous terrace or when the snow sets in enjoy the cosy atmosphere of the indoor restaurant.

You’ll find a creative menu of trending culinary dishes to local favourites. It’s certainly a treat and one not to be missed. If you’re meeting non skiers they can take 2 gondolas, the Medran then La Chaux Express – booking is advised.

If you’re skiing for the day in Savoleyres then restaurant Le Sonalon is well worth a visit, particularly if you have a long lazy lunch in mind. Perched high with panoramic mountain and village views from its fabulous terrace it offers an extensive menu with traditional French cuisine, pasta dishes, specialties Valaisannes, meat and fish dishes.

The slow cooked dishes are a hearty delight on a cold winters day coupled with some fine wine, we’re not sure skiing would be on the agenda for the afternoon. Le Sonalon is open of an evening too and you’ll find the Raclette prepared on the open fire by your waiter a truly unique experience (evenings only). It’s a popular locals restaurant and booking again is highly recommended.

Looking for authentic and cosy then La Namaste café restaurant is the place to head to whilst skiing Savoleyres. On a sunny spring day, you can soak up the rays as well as the atmosphere on the large south facing terrace whilst taking in the outstanding view.

One of the restaurant owners is a very creative artist and you’ll find metal sculptures adorning the restaurant and available for you to buy. The menu is simple with typical Swiss traditional cuisine served with a personal touch. It’s great for a light lunch or a stop off on your way back into Verbier, our tip…..don’t miss dessert!

Located below the blue Planards piste, the restaurant is also open for dinner by reservation only, you can walk up from Carrefour in about 30 minutes and if you’re feeling adventurous why not toboggan home.

For something a little different and for the expert skier only Cabane de Tortin, Nendaz is an isolated mountain hut located at 2,993m next to the Glacier de Tortin. To reach the hut you must go off piste from the Mont Fort slope.

The hut can be accessed by snow shoe, walking or skins and as with all off piste activities you must prepared with appropriate avalanche equipment and we highly recommend you go with a guide. Due to location the Cabin is never full and you can just turn up and enjoy a simple meal in peaceful surrounding where you’ll meet like-minded adventurers.
