Chalet Alaska is a modern take on a traditional chalet and offers stunning views of Mont Blanc. Conveniently located an easy walk from the centre of Chamonix town, the chalet is the perfect base for a mountain holiday in this famous Alpine resort. The property’s elevated setting, and large terraces and balconies, lets you enjoy magnificent views over the valley and up to the mountain peaks.
A short walk from the chalet is the bottom of the Le Savoy ski slopes, from where there is also a beginner ski area, as well as the bottom of the lift system which connects you into the Brevent-Flegere ski area. A network of ski buses and trains, which depart from the resort centre, connects you to the other ski areas in the Chamonix valley.
The chalet is arranged over three floors and 243m2 of living space. Outside, the stone and wood façade, and shingle clad roof, create the perfect image of a mountain retreat. Inside, there are plenty more traditional materials, but with large picture windows, striking modern lighting and contemporary furniture, you can enjoy all the benefits of a modern chalet.
Sleeping up to 13-15 people, there is an array of sleeping options for different group sizes or several families. Firstly, there are three double en-suite bedrooms, which are perfect for the adults. Next is an en-suite quad bunk room which sleeps 4, and then there is a dorm style room with 3 single beds and an en-suite shower room. Finally, there is a TV room which has a sofa bed and en-suite shower room.
The open plan living room and dining room has double height ceilings, a grand central fireplace, and opens onto a wide terrace with outdoor dining possibilities. The fully equipped kitchen is open to the dining table. To the rear of the chalet is a huge terrace with outdoor Storvatt Nordic bath (hot tub), as well as a small garden area perfect for making snowmen in the winter.
For those driving to resort there are 2 parking spaces available in the garage, and it is very useful to have a car to explore the full extent of the skiing on offer in the valley.
Chalet Alaska is available on both a self-catered and fully catered basis.
For larger groups, Chalet Alaska can be rented in conjunction with neighbouring Chalet Azurite and Chalet Saphir, to create Le Hameau des Plans, which can accommodate up to 43 people in the same location.
