Chalet Black Squirrel in located in the sought after area of Les Bois in the Chamonix valley. This great setting means you are only a 3-minute driving from the cable car at La Flégère. Surrounded by the magnificence of the Chamonix valley, this is a chalet for true mountain lovers. From the balcony and garden, you can enjoy the views of some of the most famous mountains in Europe including the Mont Blanc massif and Aiguille du Dru.
The chalet is spread across four floors and a mezzanine and offers 358m2 of floor space. Built in a pleasing traditional stone and wood style, the interior is a contrast with a modern and fresh design style. The open plan living rooms are spread across the first floor with double height floor to ceiling windows framing the views of the valley.
The lounge area is equipped with a L-shape sofa and a large wood burner, and the fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar overlooks the dining table. The wrap around terrace offers more outdoor entertaining space, and in winter, the garden perfect for snow man building. The mezzanine overlooks the living room and provides space for a quiet read as well as a desk for any remote working if required.
The chalet sleeps 10-12 guests in five bedrooms. On the ground floor are one double and two double/twin bedrooms, plus a quad bunk room, all with en-suite shower rooms and toilets. On the first floor is the final bedroom which has a double bed, en-suite shower, and adjacent communal toilet. The rooming layout offers good flexibility for several families or a group of friends looking to holiday together.
The chalet is well blessed for spa and entertainment facilities. Outside in the garden is a hot tub and on the lower ground floor a wellness area with sauna, shower, and fitness area. For fun nights in there is a large, dedicated cinema room with bar, and this space also works perfectly as a separate playroom for children.
The chalet also has ample underground parking as well as a large ski room. A Bose system connected via iPads also lets you play your own music throughout the chalet.
To maximise your time in resort it is advantageous to have a car, thought the resort does offer a comprehensive bus and train service. The nearest bus stop (Les Bois) is 450m from the chalet. For grocery shopping there is a large supermarket a 4.5km drive away, and the bustling centre of Chamonix is the same distance from the chalet.
The Flegere / Brevent ski slopes are the nearest of Chamonix’s four separate ski area, with the Flegere lift just 1.3km away. For those learning to ski, the 2 dedicated nursery areas of Savoy and Planards are a 4km and 4.5km drive from the chalet.
The other ski areas of the Chamonix valley include Grands Montets, 4.2km away, and is a real adventure playground for strong skiers and snowboarders. At either end of the valley are Les Houches and Le Tour, and these areas offer a more varied network of slopes for all levels.
For larger groups, Chalet Black Squirrel can be rented in conjunction with neighbouring Chalet Black Stone, to accommodate groups of up to 22 guests in 10 bedrooms. These 2 chalets share a common garage in the basement.
Chalet Black Squirrel is available to rent on a self-catered basis. Additional services such as in-chalet catering, driver service, or additional housekeeping can all be arranged at extra cost.
