Courchevel Le Praz Luxury Ski Chalets
A romantic choice with wonderful restaurants, Courchevel Le Praz has quick access into Les 3 Vallées.
Courchevel Le Praz is one of the most beautiful and charming ski resorts in the French Alps. Perched on a plateau above the Bozel valley, this traditional mountain village, with its meandering alleyways and little church will charm you. When it snows here there is nowhere more enchanting.
Skiing in the Courchevel valley and further into the extensive 3 Valleys ski area, the largest in the world, will leave you spoilt for choice. With some of the best-groomed pistes for you to cruise and carve on, to breathtaking off-piste and couloirs as well as freestyle parks and themed children’s ski slopes.
Two modern lifts depart from next to the frozen lake and through the trees to give access to the slopes around Courchevel 1850 in just 6 minutes and then further afield into the extensive 3 Vallées. The tree lined ski slopes here are great during times of poor visibility and the excellent black piste of Jockeys descends right next to the ski jumps built for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics.
With fantastic British and International ski schools, it is a great place to learn to ski or snowboard or to refine your technique. There are no ski school meeting points in Courchevel Le Praz but you can access all the ski schools in Courchevel 1850 each morning via the fast gondola.
Le Praz is a food lovers delight with the one Michelin starred Azimut providing a relaxed and affordable fine dining experience. With the La Table de Mon Grand-Pere and Bistro du Praz also to try, this is certainly the place for a gourmet ski holiday.
For après ski, the lively La Descente or L’Elephant are the places to head, or for a more sophisticated experience, Le Norby’s Lounge Bar in the village centre has huge comfy sofas and a roaring fire.
There are supermarkets in Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650, Courchevel 1850, and the village of Saint Bon, which are all accessible by the resort ski bus service from Courchevel Le Praz. Whilst in Le Praz there is a butchers, bakery, and cheese shop.
No description of Courchevel Le Praz is complete without mention of the village’s famous ski jumps, a dominant sight here, which featured in the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics and continues to host international competition to this day.
Le Praz is also home to some lovely cross-country ski routes with gentle gradients. If you’ve never tried ‘Ski de Fond’ before and would like to take a morning or afternoon to have a go, we’d highly recommend it for the opportunity to appreciate the mountain setting at a more peaceful pace.
Our choice of properties in Courchevel Le Praz provides some of the most beautiful and best value ski chalets in the valley. These luxury chalets mix traditional and rustic mountain style with contemporary design to create a truly special holiday experience. Le Praz is a great option for families and groups looking for an authentic village but with quick access to some of the worlds best skiing.
