Morzine Luxury Ski Chalets

A large and lively ski resort, Morzine has a great variety of chalets and extensive and varied ski slopes.

Ideally located at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Morzine offers a wonderful playground of 650km of ski slopes and all just over an hour from Geneva Airport. Traditional wood and slate chalets are nestled in a snug location in an immense valley between the mountains and forests. Surrounded by the warmth and character of an authentic Savoyard village, this is one of the liveliest and bustling winter resorts.

With such an extensive ski area just waiting for you outside your chalets front door, Morzine is one of the best choices for mixed ability groups. For beginners or those returning to skiing for the first time in a while, the wide village nursery slopes are convenient and there are excellent runs to progress on at Le Pléney, Nyon and Super-Morzine.

Morzine is a fantastic child friendly winter resort and being close to Geneva airport it is one of the most easily accessible ski resorts in France. Morzine ski resort is also located at a child friendly altitude with slopes starting at 1,000m.

Either side of the resort are the high altitude slopes of Avoriaz and the tree lined pistes of Les Gets offering skiing for all abilities and tastes. Some of the best terrain parks in the Alps are here and for those of a strong disposition, the infamous ‘Swiss Wall‘, a very steep mogul run straddling the border between France and Switzerland, will test not only your skill but also your nerve!

For intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders this vast ski domain can offer something new every day. With 12 distinct resorts accessed within the Portes du Soleil, the sense of travel is fantastic and along with endless varied terrain and top snowpark and the choice is easy. Strong intermediates will want to graduate quickly upwards from Morzine to Avoriaz and the much more demanding runs that stretch back down, as well as across the Swiss border.

If you’re not a dedicated skier or snowboarder, this is one of those destinations where there are a reasonable amount of other activities to fill the hours while your companions are whizzing down the mountain. These include ice-diving beneath a lake, nature discovery tours, snowmobiling, tobogganing, snowshoeing and shopping. There’s also a world-class ice rink and a large swimming pool.

There’s no shortage of places in Morzine to go for a drink or two and each bar offers something unique. From amazing après ski spots to late night venues, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a quiet drink or something more lively with some live music, Morzine has an eclectic mix, making it the perfect place for a ski holiday to remember no matter what you’re looking for.

Morzine is a great destination for a luxury ski holiday with chalets now starting to rival the more well-known and established ski resort destinations, but at half the cost.
