Ferme 1779, located centrally in the old village of St Martin de Belleville, is a luxury ski chalet renovated and enlarged from an old farmhouse. The chalet perfectly combines the traditional stone and wood construction of the local area, with a dramatic and stylish interior design. The heritage of the property has been retained in the vaulted barns, stone walls, spacious attics, and timber framing.
The chalet is arranged over three spacious floors and 300m2 of floor area. Sleeping up to 10 adults and 5 children, there are six en-suite bedrooms. The entire top floor of the chalet is given over to the grand open plan living spaces, all framed by the stunning arched timber roof. At the heart of this floor is the four-sided, glass fronted fireplace, which provides warmth in all directions.
The open kitchen and dining room sit to one end of the top floor, with contemporary chandeliers providing a counterpoint to the large wood beams. At the other end is the lounge area with sofas and armchairs arranged around a coffee table, as well as a separate TV lounge area. This level opens out onto a balcony which offers expansive views down the valley and across to the mountains.
The middle floor offers four double bedrooms featuring plenty of wood panelling and modern en-suites. On the lowest level, in the vaulted old stables, there is a very charming children’s bedroom sleeping up to five people. The final bedroom is another double, and has a separate shower room, and separate shared toilet.
After your day’s skiing, or maybe if you just want to enjoy a relaxing day, then head to your private wellness area with sauna, loungers, and Italian style shower. Step outside onto the terrace and you can sink into the outdoor Nordic hot tub. The chalet also features a dedicated ski room and laundry facilities.
The chalet is very conveniently located and is just 150m from the bottom of the ski slopes. From the bottom of the slopes, you can take TK du Village button lift and at the top it is then just a short ski down to the main fast gondola up the mountain. You can also rent ski lockers at the bottom of the slopes in the resort centre, and there is a ski bus which will take you to the ski school meeting points.
From St Martin de Belleville it is very easy to ski over to Meribel, as well as further up the Belleville valley to Les Menuires and Val Thorens. The Belleville valley in which St Martin is located offers 300km of the 600km of slopes that make up the huge 3 Valleys ski area.
The charming centre of St Martin de Belleville village with its beautiful church is also just a 150m walk away. Well renowned as a gourmet ski destination, there is a great selection of restaurants to discover in the evenings. There is a supermarket, bakery, and butchers in the resort, so you will be able to shop locally for all your self-catered holiday home cooking.
