Chalet Il Gufo is a ski in ski out chalet in Cervinia, Italy. This slope side luxury catered chalet offers stunning views of the Matterhorn along with a contemporary interior. Nestled in the forest and beside a stream, when the ski slopes close you are just surrounded by nature. The resort centre is also only a few minutes’ walk away ensuring the chalet has an unbeatable location in both summer and winter.
Your arrival at Chalet Il Gufo certainly delivers the wow factor as it is accessed via a private tunnel carved under the ski slope and ensures for the utmost privacy. The chalet is arranged across four floors all connected by both stairs and an elevator. The ground floor is dominated by the stunning open plan living and dining room with its double height ceilings and large picture windows.
The open plan living space provides for a homely space for your group or family to entertain and unwind together. The grand wood table is the centrepiece where bespoke dinners and delicious breakfasts will be served. Afterwards unwind by the fireplace, relax on the sumptuous sofas, or simply gaze at the snow-covered mountains from the full width balcony.
The chalet can accommodate 12-14 guests in six en-suite bedrooms spread between the first and second floors. On the first floor are two double and two twin/double bedrooms, as well as a mezzanine lounge area and bar that overlooks the main living spaces below. On the top floor is the master suite with high ceilings and Matterhorn views, as well as the quad bunk room with four queen sized beds suitable for either adults or children.
After returning directly to the chalet from the ski slopes, you will no doubt require some relaxation and pampering. If this is the case, then the lowest level of the chalet is where you need to head. Take a dip in the indoor 10m swimming pool with mountain backdrop, ease tied bodies in the warming hammam, or sink into the outdoor hot tub before sitting around the firepit and gazing out over the illuminated resort centre of Cervinia.
After dinner head down to the games and cinema room by pushing through a secret door to reveal an enchanting entertainment space. Play endless rounds of pool, table tennis or table football. Flop onto the enormous sofa that can be extended to create a full-length lounge that invites everyone to enjoy movie nights. Or just enjoy sipping drinks at your own private bar. For those with energy to burn, there is even a small gym!
In the mornings after a hearty breakfast, head to the state-of-the-art ski room that gives you private and direct access to the ski slopes. Arrive at the main gondola lifts after a brief ski on the adjacent red piste and within minutes you will be at Plan Maison. Subject to availability, the chalet staff can also arrange private ski instructors to meet you directly in the ski room for a stress-free start to your day.
The centre of Cervinia is only a 5 to 10-minute walk away and just 3-minutes to the main Breuil-Plan Maison lift. For those new to skiing, the beginner area and nursery slopes are a 10-minute walk away.
Chalet Il Gufo is available to rent on a fully staffed and catered basis in the winter ski season, as well as during the summer months.
