Chalet Pescosta is a luxury ski chalet in the Italian Dolomites. Situated 1,285 metres above sea level, the chalet is perfectly nestled between the snowy slopes of the Kronplatz ski area and the local, narrow streets of San Vigilio di Marebbe. The terraces of the chalet overlook the Plan de Corones ski lifts which can be reached with just a few minutes’ walk from the chalet.
The chalet offers four levels and 530m2 of floor area all connected by both stairs and an elevator. Sleeping up to 12 guests, there are six en-suite bedrooms. The interior has been designed to provide the upmost in comfort for your family or group, along with modern amenities and advanced technology.
At the top of the chalet are the living spaces with the floor divided into two distinct areas, one for convivial dining and one for relaxing. Large windows flood both rooms with natural light and the balconies offer views onto the Marebbe Dolomites. The living room has two seating areas, one with a large L-shaped sofas and the other with armchairs set around a table and perfect for board games.
Stepping through to the dining room, a central fireplace provides warmth to both rooms. The large wood dining table, sat beneath dramatic lighting, comfortably seats 12 people. The adjoining open plan kitchen with island unit is equipped with the latest appliances and top-quality equipment. In the evenings, if you do not fancy home cooking, then why not hire a local chef to prepare dinner.
One floor down and this entire level is dedicated to sleeping quarters with four en-suite bedrooms all with balcony access. There are three double bedrooms, as well as a bunk room with queen-size bed and bunk bed ideal for little ones. The décor harmoniously blends wood panelling, metal work, soft fabrics along with modern bathrooms and stylish lighting.
The ground floor offers a mix of bedrooms, spa facilities, outdoor spaces as well as the main entrance with storage for your mountain coats. The final two bedrooms of the chalet feature king-size double beds, en-suite shower rooms and access onto the terrace. The terrace is equipped with parasols, sunbeds and sofas available for outdoor relaxation, as well as an outdoor kitchen and barbeque available for al fresco dining in the summer.
The tranquil wellness area is dominated by the indoor swimming pool with counter current swimming and chromotherapy lighting. After a dip in the pool, you can choose between the Finnish sauna or simply relax on the chaise longues in the relaxation lounge. Your holiday practicalities have also been considered with a utility room equipped with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.
The basement of the chalet is where you will arrive to if driving to resort and the large garage has parking available for up to four cars, along with Electric car charge points. There is storage for your winter equipment along with ski boot dryers, and if biking in the summer months, storage and charging outlets for scooters and electric bicycles. Afterwards, you can use either the elevator or stairs to access the other floors.
From the chalet it is only a 100m walk to the Miara cable car which connects you into the 119km of ski slopes of the Kronplatz Plan de Corones. The ski area is served by 31 lifts along with beautiful and daily groomed slopes. At the end of your ski day, you ski back to the bottom of the cable car, and from where it is just a short walk back to the chalet.
It is not just downhill skiers that the area attracts but all mountain lovers. If Nordic skiing is how you prefer to glide through the Dolomites, a 24km route that starts from San Vigilio heads out into nature, offering snow-covered landscapes of immense beauty. The Fanes-Senes-Braies and Puez-Odle natural parks also offer perfect trails for snowshoeing, sledding, walking or simply enjoying a horse drawn sled ride.
Surrounded by the impressive Dolomite peaks and Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park, the resort of San Vigilio di Marebbe is tucked away in the South Tyrol. In the village centre there is a supermarket, as well as a handful or restaurants and hotel bars. If long lunches in the middle of your ski day are your thing, then you are in luck with around 40 mountain huts waiting to welcome you on the slopes.
Chalet Pescosta is available to rent on a bed & breakfast or self-catered basis. Final cleaning is an additional charge of €600.
